About AI in 5 min
A short daily read for people who want to keep up with AI without giving it an hour a day.
What this is
AI in 5 min publishes a small, hand-checked selection of articles, videos and open source projects each day, each one summarised so you can tell in a few seconds whether it is worth your time. The whole edition is meant to take about five minutes.
What we publish, and what we deliberately do not
Everything here has to pass one test: after reading it, can you do something you could not do before? Tutorials, explanations, tools and techniques pass. Funding rounds, executive moves, model launch announcements and company drama do not, however widely they are being covered. This is a learning site, so industry news is filtered out on purpose rather than for lack of sources.
How an item gets here
- Sources are monitored continuously, including publisher feeds, YouTube channels and GitHub.
- Candidates are scored against the test above, and anything that is news rather than teaching is dropped.
- What survives is summarised into a headline, a short abstract and a few highlights, and tagged with a level: Beginner, Intermediate or Advanced.
- A person reviews it before it is published. Nothing reaches the site unapproved.
Summaries are drafted with the help of AI and checked by a human before publication. We say so plainly because you should know how what you are reading was made.
Credit
We summarise and point at other people's work. We do not republish it. Every item links back to the original creator, and the link is the point of the item.
Reading score
Signed-in readers earn points for what they read, weighted by level, so that reading something harder counts for more than reading more. Re-opening an item you have already read earns nothing.
How it pays for itself
Advertising. Ads never affect what gets selected or how it is described, and we do not accept payment for placement in the edition.
